Pike Place Market Crab Stew & a Happy Dance!

November 13, 2015 by Patti 5 Comments

Hey y’all! I’m here to tell ya’ that I am one happy gal this week.  As you may know I shared our family’s favorite Home of the 12’s Chili Recipe prior to the Seattle Seahawks game a couple of weeks ago.  Well two things happened after that post.  First of all, the Seahawks won that tense game against the Dallas Cowboys – WOOT!  Secondly, the interest in my recipe was so GREAT that I’ve been asked by the admins of the Home of the 12’s Facebook page to share a Game of the Week Recipe for the remainder of the football season – WOOT! WOOT!  You might know that there was a little happy dancing going on around our house!

This week I’m sharing our recipe for Pike Place Market Crab Stew.  Very fitting since we are playing the crabby Cardinals! If you are a Hawks fan (or a wannabe) head on over to join the growing group of fans at the Home of the 12’s Facebook page.  As of now we are 67,750 members strong and pushing toward 110,000 members with a great giveaway for the one who brings in the most members.

This recipe is SO delicious that everyone who tastes it asks for more. DO use REAL crab and even better, buy your crab fresh from the Pike Place Market! This stew is rich and goes well with a green salad and French bread or bread sticks. GO HAWKS!

Heavenly Chocolate Truffles

February 7, 2013 by Patti 22 Comments

Well, here it is, the delicious truffle recipe I promised you in my last post. I waited until my husband was off to his annual physical exam and blood draw appointment before setting to work. I wouldn’t want to be the source of his temptation!

I found this recipe  years ago in a Bon Appetit magazine and held onto it for quite awhile thinking it would be hard. On the contrary, these truffles are so easy to make and so delicious. I’ve linked up the recipe and instructions at the end of this post so let’s just go right to some visuals to draw you in . . .

Six simple ingredients.

Ready to begin cooking!

And voila! Pretty simple right? Okay, I’ve skipped a bunch of steps but I’m in a hurry to get done before hubby gets home!

Can you smell the aroma of your favorite tea steeping?

Can you imagine how it would taste with a bite of rich, sweet chocolate? If only we had an entire afternoon to sit and chat over these delectable goodies . . .SIGH!!!

I put one of each kind of truffle into these cute little ziplock bags and tied them up with a ribbon. I’ll spread the love with some very special friends. Is it wrong to tempt friends? I don’t think so, as long as they are women. Women NEED chocolate, you know.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. How do you show the special people in your life how much they mean to you? Gifts, time, acts of service? For me, words are one of the most important ways of expressing love, and loving words received from others are powerful . . . sometimes even life changing.

I am so blessed with all the wonderful people God has put in my life to love . . . and who have loved me back!
