The WRITE 31 DAYS Challenge: 31 Days, Every Day, One Topic

Day 1

I’ve heard of the 31 Days Writing Challenge for years and I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of taking one topic and focusing in on it for a whole month. This year I decided to jump in and use the 31 days of October to share my Old Things New story. My story of becoming the person who God created me to be.

WARNING: This story doesn’t resemble a Hallmark movie. Not even a little bit! The characters are more 3-dimensional, less predictable, and some even fall under the label of “notorious sinners.” (Luke 15:1 NLT)

Perseverance Part 2 - In Recovery

Four unique women, living varied lives, in different locales, drawn together by a joint passion for writing. Over the past couple of years we’ve shared hopes and dreams, joys and sorrows, as well as our very deepest heart needs. And so, we have become friends.

I consider it a privilege to share in this eight-week series on Perseverance with three of my fellow writer friends, Mary Geisen, Holly Barrett and Debbie Kitterman. This is WEEK 2 and today Holly will be sharing how she has Persevered in RECOVERY.

Freedom Friday - Addiction, it Isn’t all About Me!

“There is nothing I can say to make you feel better.”

These words were a jolt to my heart.

I was pleading with someone dear to me about the poor choices she was making, telling her I wished she’d get help, how much she’s hurting those around her, how terribly my own heart breaks for her.

Shock came at the thought that perhaps she was telling me she had no intention of stopping her self-destructive behavior, which left me despairing and absorbed in my own pain.
