The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement – Book Review

September 28, 2018 by Patti 12 Comments

Happy Friday friends.  As promised, I’m back today with a review of my friend Debbie Kitterman’s recently released book:

The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement

Prophecy.  I know.  An uncomfortable word for some, but in this book Debbie, in her very engaging and down to earth manner, teaches us about Biblical prophecy with the backing of plenty of Scripture.  She explains in detail the four types of Biblical prophecy before focusing in on the gift of prophetic encouragement which is all about hearing the words of God for others.  She is passionate in her belief that it is a very necessary gift for today.

Here’s what one of the other members of Debbie’s book launch team wrote about the book:

“Have you ever experienced God moments? When someone comes up to you and says something so deeply personal without realizing it, that it can only come from God? When a stranger prays words over you that touches your deepest longings, longings you have not shared anyone?”

I know I have!  Words of prophetic encouragement can change the course of one’s life and move people forward into purposes they’ve only once dreamed of.  I’ve experienced that in my own life.

Debbie also explains in her book that the gift of prophetic encouragement isn’t just for special people.  If we lean into Him with open hearts and open ears God can give any of us encouraging words for others.   I’ve learned from personal experience that being obedient to speak what God has laid on my heart for other people, even when it feels hard, can be a huge blessing to them.  And the result of encouraging others is an even bigger blessing to me!

You can order The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement through any of your favorite booksellers or on Debbie’s website by clicking on the picture above.

And, just in case you’re interested, the link below is a recent interview I did with Debbie where we discuss her book and a few other personal things 😉  We had a lot of fun and laughed a whole lot, and I think you might enjoy listening in.

WoW! This is a book I need to get. I love it when God drops into my heart something to tell someone. To me life’s is at it’s best when you can encourage someone who you didn’t even realize how badly they needed it.

    Thank you!
I was so glad that this was on your blog today. I’ve been experiencing this in my own life recently. It is a little scary at first because I not always sure how to approach people with it. I must get the book to learn more.

Thank you SO much for taking time to comment Janet. It can definitely be scary to approach people when we feel God’s nudge. Such a blessing though. I hope you’ll enjoy the book and learn from it.
