Top 10 Posts of 2016

January 16, 2017 by Patti 8 Comments

Have you ever felt like you’re going round and round in circles, working hard but accomplishing little?  I think we all feel that way at times.  That’s when it can be a good thing to take a look back to see that you really have made some forward progress.  My blogging life sort of fizzled out toward the end of 2016 but looking back I find myself encouraged by these things that I DID accomplish.

I may be a bit late to the hightlights of 2016 party but then, late is quite fashionable in some circles.  So without further ado, here are Old Things New’s TOP TEN blog posts from 2016, counting from number 10 up to number 1:

10.  Freedom Friday on: Listening to Gossip (why a listener to gossip can be just as guilty as the speaker of gossip)

9.   A Tale of 3 Sisters & Limed Oak Wall Sconces

8.   Painted French Country Bar Stools

7.   Pollen Proofing the Screened Porch

6.  10 Steps to a Perfectly Painted Exterior Door

5.  French Country Drop Cloth Tablecloth Tutorial

4.  Freedom Friday:  Throw Off Those Clothes (trading in your cloak of heaviness)

3.  French Courtyard and a Backyard Deck

2.  Pottery Barn Knockoff Trestle Table

1.  DIY Mini Conservatory

So that is my recap of 2016.  I truly do appreciate those of you who continue to follow along so faithfully, as well as my more recent followers.  My hope and prayer is that I have enriched your lives in some way through words and pictures this past year, and that I can continue to do the same in 2017.

ABUNDANT blessings to y’all from Mr. OTN and I . . . me . . . myself . . . or whatever the proper way of signing off might be,

Just beautiful, Patti! I love every picture and idea that you share. You have quite the flair for decorating and it looks like your backyard is an oasis! I’m grateful that you’re fashionably late with these highlights from 2016. Better late than never!

Wow do you have an eye for decor and fashion! I’m not one to “follow the trends” in blogging either, so you are not alone. Celebrate your accomplishments for 2016! I love that trestle table. It’s so beautiful!

Great posts Patti! I need to check out the painting the front door post. I still have mine with the primer, it looks white. But, once I pictured a wreath on it and a reader commented how it had the slightest blue tint. She thought it was an unusual door color and I couldn’t believe she noticed but, I still just see white. Whatever it is the primer! lol! Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!
