Junking at The Second Hand Rose

August 31, 2013 by Patti 6 Comments

One of my favorite close-to-home getaways is The Second Hand Rose in Lacey, Washington.  This get-away isn’t a resort or a spa retreat (although those things are nice too), it is an antique, junk, and miscellaneous store like no other!   People come from miles away to explore this amazing store and my first visit took me two hours to complete!!!  I want to share just a peek with you today.
The Second Hand Rose is housed in a former dance hall so it is really BIG!  I’ll show you the outside yard first to give you a feel for what this place is all about.  No commentary necessary, it is simply fabulous!

Pretty cool right?  There are always fun bargains to be had outside . . . now let’s head indoors.

Can you see why I love this store?  There is so much to see and it isn’t all in front of your eyes.  Up, down, all around . . . even the drawers in the display pieces are filled with treasures!  Looking for something you can’t find?  Just ask and they probably have it somewhere!

The Second Hand Rose is only open Friday-Sunday.  Sometimes when I get an idea into my head of something I “need” it is a wee bit torturous to have to wait until they open again to go find it.  This has become a place that I make regular drop-in visits to because the store is always changing . . .  things moving in and out . . .  and you never know what you might find.

Finally this is Terry, the owner of The Second Hand Rose.  A lifelong collector and the nicest man you could ever meet.  Taking a trip to Washington State?  Put this place on your tourism map for sure!

I hope you’re having a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  I’m headed off on a little jaunt to Camas, Washington today to check out the Camas Vintage Street Faire.

   Blessings,

Hi Patti… thank you so much for visiting my post about being trapped in my car, and for your nice comment… wow!… I LOVE this shop!… I used to visit Lacey years ago every Summer when my daddy was stationed at Ft. Lewis for Summer camp in the Army… such a beautiful place you live in… I would want to buy everything in their shop… I need to go back and look at all of your pics again and just sigh… what did you buy?… would love to see… wishing you a blissful weekend, xoxo Julie Marie

It makes me want to drive to Washington just for the experience.

I can see why it took you 2 hours the first time.
