I’m Moving!!!

August 11, 2013 by Patti 12 Comments

Feeling a little apprehensive as I await the transfer of my Blogger blog to a WordPress blog.

Am I crazy to do this while I’m in the midst of preparing for guests from out of town (in and out the entire month of August – this is what happens when you live on a lake), trying to sort through the administrative duties of Freedom Session which starts up again in September, and using every spare moment (sometimes this is my sleep time – who needs sleep) creating things to sell at the Queen Bee French Flea in September?

Yes indeed, I may be crazy . . . or headed in that direction.  Thankfully, I have someone who is taking care of the transfer for me, namely Kristi Linauer at Addicted2Decorating. I leave the transfer in her highly capable hands and then I’ll figure out how to work it once it is up and running.

Sooo . . . please be patient . . . I may be away for awhile . . . learning new things.  And, when I come back, I’ll be my old self again . . .

. . . unless Mr. OTN surprises me with a Lifestyle Lift, or a Tummy Tuck or something to make this Old Thing New again!  Nope, don’t think it’s gonna happen.  Believe it or not, he rather likes the old me.  Only because he sees inside to the young ME, still living life to the fullest!

   Blessings to you,

My son who is a web developer wants me to switch, but I am reluctant. What is making you change?

I would love to do that also, just to afraid of losing everything and I don’t know how and what would be the first step…

Oh, I’m so with you. Visitors all summer. Moved house last week. Waiting for repairs to water system so drinking bottled water and boiling water before doing everything else. Sometime in September I visualise returning to normal, I hope.

Add me to the list of others wanting to know about transfering to WordPress…. I think it would make a great blog post! Being totally computer UN-savy I would be completely lost on doing this. Praise to you, girl, for taking on the challenge! I know it will work out great! And are you the cutest or what???? Love, love, love your pics! You make me smile! And when you go in for those nips and tucks, lets be roommates… wouldn’t that be a hoot??!!

LOL! I would love to be your roommate for the nip and tuck thing Kadee. We could turn the pain into laughter!

Sooo . . . the transfer is complete, Blogger to WP, with just a few little glitches to work out over time. I really like how my posts are all listed with thumbnails on the homepage. I’m not sure about the background color though. I may want to go more neutral. Anyhoo, I put the transfer into the very capable hands of Kristi @ Addicted 2 Decorating and in one day, for $195, it is finished!

BTW, I’m replying to your comment directly from my WP Dashboard. I don’t know if it is like Blogger and will only show up on the blog or if you’ll actually receive an email reply. Would you mind letting me know if you receive this?

      Blessings,
      Patti

My first blog with with wordpress and I got very little traffic. Gave up just a few months in. I’ve been happier with Blogger. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t go back; but I’m hesitant.

I actually signed up at WordPress and have never done anything since LOL! Hard for this ole’ gal to learn all this stuff, but I’ll be following along to see how you make out! Sounds like fun to me having your guests and keeping yourself busy, and getting ready for the flea market in Sept. ~ it will buzz by quickly, too quickly!! I love the pictures of yourself, being you!
