Inspired in Seattle Part 3!

February 18, 2013 by Patti 15 Comments

So this is the last part of my 3-day Girl’s Getaway to Seattle . . . browsing, shopping, eating and just plain relaxing! If you missed Part 1 and Part 2 please link back to see some great locally owned stores.

Well, we started out this day with a strong need for fortification for the day ahead. Can you believe what we found? A store by the name of The Chocolate Box. What more can I say?
They had chocolates of course . . .
. . . but they also had a Hot Chocolate Bar!
After a salted caramel mocha and a sample of the European Sipping Chocolate we were ready to face the day.

Here’s Deanna stating her opinion on the whole thing! Isn’t she just so cute?

We saw a LOT of home decor stores on this particular day, with a variety of styles but this was my favorite and the one I chose to highlight. This store has a great mix of styles from rustic to elegant.

Let’s go inside . . .

Here we go with the light fixtures again. I love this chandelier made from vintage electric insulators.
The next fixtures are coastal inspired. Does this make you think of a puffer fish?
 How about an octopus?
This reminds me of the cork floats on a fishing boat,

And this one makes me think of sea grass waving under the ocean.

On to some of the wall hangings. I was really drawn to this horse head for some reason.
These are really fun! My oldest daughter tells me, “No animal heads on the walls!”
This old headboard is amazing as wall art. It got me to thinkin’ . . .
Here you have some of the seating sold in the store.
 Nice legs, huh?

All very unique, right? The chairs to this dining set spoke to me with their elegance . . .

. . . combined with rusticity.

Here are a few more vignettes for you . . .

. . . and a beautifully arranged seating area. There is definitely a lot of Asian influence in Pacific NW decorating.
Great Jones Home is a wonderful store and I’ve only given you a peek at all that they have to offer. One Seattle reviewer said, “If Elle Magazine had a store, this would be it!” They are in the process of working on their website but check back, and pay them a visit the next time you are in Seattle.
So how could I end this final Seattle post without a visit to the famous Pike Place Market? A whole ‘nother kinda shopping experience!

This is one of the market’s famous “fish throwers” posing for my camera!

Haha! That is one BIG mouth!
I really love Seattle and I miss living closer to this beautiful city (my childhood home).  It is a great vacation destination, with so many fun things to do and see. I hope you all get the chance to experience Seattle one day.

I’m so glad you joined me and my great friend Deanna on our shopping experience. Time to roast some vegies and get the fish on the grill!

      Blessings,

NOTE: I’ve not been compensated in any way for reviewing any of the businesses in this post.

Patti, I have loved touring right along with you. The insulator light is great. I just showed some on a recent post that I saw at the St. George home shows. Glad you had such a fun time. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

    Hi, Patti

My husband and I love your insulator chandelier as we also collect them! We were wondering what do you thread the insulator on to to hold them in place? We have been trying to find something the right size to screw the insulators into.

    Thanks so much!

This is the deadliest cancer with the lowest survival rate of only 9% at two years. My friend @summerthymes, a PC survivor, signed up for this walk several months ago in honor of my Kelly💜. I can’t wait to join her and other friends and family to participate. I’ve packed my suitcase with a lot of purple 💜 but also a little bit of green and blue for the ultimate Seahawk fan💙💚#PanCan #purplestride #5k #sanantonio #pancreaticcancer #facinggriefheadon #iheartkellykrank #whynotus #gohawks
