Inspired in Seattle Part 2

February 14, 2013 by Patti 6 Comments

So, here is Part 2 of my girl’s getaway trip to Seattle.  If you missed Part 1 and want to see some fabulous finds for the home you can link back here.

The second stop on our three day trip was to Cranberry Cottage, in Bothell, WA.  (located just northeast of Seattle in Country Village)
This shop is filled with vintage and handmade items. The artisans  take turns volunteering their time to work in the shop and they were so gracious to allow my camera in!  I was inspired almost to the point of drooling over the many beautiful finds in this store, but since I can’t make everything I see (imagine that!) I had to break down and buy a little something just for me.

This is the site that greeted me as I walked in the front door.
So much to see in so little time.  I already know that I’ll be going back for more!
I’ll zoom in on some items now so you can be sure to see all the details:

This pretty little cornucopia nest makes me long for Spring.
I’m always eyeing old picture frames while out “thrifting”.  A little painting, a little distressing and a piece of jewelry sure glams this one up!
More lampshade inspiration (continuued from my last post).

Fragrant soaps wrapped in paper and burlap and a silver urn filled with burlap flowers and moss. All so pretty!

This ruffle pillow is darling . . . and here are some more creatively wrapped soaps.  I’d love some of these for my guest bath.

I’m working on dressing up some of my own miniature dress forms so I had to get a picture of  this beautifully dressed mannequin.

There were many chalk painted furniture pieces in the store. This one was unique because the inset on the top was decoupaged with a print of old keys and the artist added brass keys across the front of the table. Very clever!

I love the look of the hem on this stamped pillow . . .

. . . and this picture made from burlap and frayed fabric was simple yet lovely.

There were old books decorated with unique buttons . . .

. . . and books covered in pretty graphics.

Some fantastic chandeliers . . .this one rustic . . .

. . . and this one elegant.  Notice that the pearls are tied in place with black netting, and the “candles” are wrapped with sheet music.

Oh look, another lampshade!

I’ll finish with a picture of an OldThingsNew idea that I thought was amazing!  Do you recognize what this is?
Yes, it is a Piano Bar! The keys were moved to the sides of the piano. Here you see them on the right . . .
. . . and here on the left.  You can also see the strings from inside the piano set as a backdrop to the actual bar area. I think this one wins the prize for MOST FABULOUS!
So Part 2 comes to an end but be sure to check back for Part 3 which promises to be another, totally different Seattle shopping experience. I hope the creativity of the artisans at Cranberry Cottage has inspired you and I’d like to encourage you to visit their store when you are in the Seattle area, or check out their website today.

NOTE: I’m not being compensated in any way for reviewing this local business on this post.
