Did you read my post about The Lie of Perfectionism a couple of weeks ago? Yeah well, I may have had to read that again myself before sharing my floral arrangement with you today. I’ve never taken a flower arranging class in my life but I know the look I like. I’m pretty sure a professional would take one look at my arrangement and want to fix it for me. In fact, I did ask the opinion of a friend who has won awards for her floral arrangements and she had some suggestions for me, but after playing around with it a bit more I stayed with what was pleasing to my eye.
When I look into my dining room, which is several times a day as I go up and down the stairs, I feel happy.
The sun streams through the plantation shutters onto my dining room table and reminds me that warm days are right around the corner.
This large bouquet is filled with some of my favorite flowers and, quite by accident in an attempt to fill a bare spot, a sweet bird’s nest with gold leafed eggs.
I have neither the time nor the money to create a new arrangement of fresh flowers every week, but over time I’ve invested in some really good faux flowers which I’ve mixed with some really average faux flowers, to create an arrangement that makes me smile.
A little burlap twisted around the stems of the flowers gives it the shabby touch I adore,
and a big French garden urn at the base of it all makes it a statement piece.
Nope, not even near perfect, but Perfectly Imperfect just like me!
Blessings friends 😉

Patti, I think this is really gorgeous! You mixed such soft colors and the little nest is so Springy! I have no talent in this area and really envy those that have. This looks professional. I would smile, too!

Patti, your arrangement is beautiful! I used to not like faux flowers at all but not if you find the right ones they just can’t be left behind. I think yours are perfect.

I love the idea of the urn ~ it gives that rustic feel, and the flowers make it so feminine and pretty.
Great idea.

Oh do I ever relate to this one, Patti! How I would LOVE to be able to make floral arrangements….but that’s not my particular forte. However, when I do arrange some things, I step back and say…..yeah…I kinda like that. Or Uhm, not quite what I was going for…LOL. Then I start moving some here or bending (the wire stems) “thata way””, and step back again….sometimes it doesn’t take too long to get it where I want it….
hahaha.

Your arrangement turned out lovely. Don’t change a thing. The FTD thing is boring: 3 or this and 5 of that. Don’t do it!

What a beautiful arrangement! I think you did a beautiful job with it!

I personally love unbalanced arrangements, they are far more interesting. I absolutely hated when i had to make one of those “perfect” arrangements. This is lovely and I’m smiling at it too….your room has really come together, Sandi

I am a floral designer and can say that your arrangement is BEAUTIFUL! You could sell it in any shop! Your fauxs are fabulous. I worked in a place that was/is a huge warehouse filled with great faux flowers, trees, bushes, baskets, containers etc. I worked in the design room and loved it! Have a great day!!!

I also see blue and white peeking through your lovely arrangement- which I love!
